(Reuters) - U.S. stocks surged to fresh highs on Friday after a new round of economic data buoyed investor optimism and lifted the dollar to a seven-week high against the euro.
In Europe, leading British shares hit their highest close since September 2000 and a pan-European stock index closed at its highest level since November 2000 on the strong U.S. jobs and manufacturing data.
